Facilitation of Workshops, Talks and Seminars

SouthWest Counselling Centre , (SWCC) is well established with 22 years’ experience in facilitating and evaluating outreach projects, talks and workshops in the Kerry.   Our staff currently provide an  outreach service countywide. All our staff our accredited or pre accredited with the Irish association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, The Irish Association for Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. the Irish Association of Psychological Society of Ireland or Play Therapy Ireland.  SWCC works closely with the  HSE Services, TUSLA Child and Family Agency, Kerry Education and Training Board and South Kerry Develop Partnership in the delivery of  programmes in schools and communities year on year.

Sample of some of our Workshops 

RSE Workshops – Over 100 workshops delivered to over 20 schools in Kerry, consisting of 4 hour workshops to small groups of approximately 20.  The main of our  workshops is to empower young people in making responsible, safe, healthy and respectful decisions in relationships.

Transition Year Workshops supports young people in the transitional period from Primary school to Post Primary SchoolContent deals with possible pressures, understanding the importance of respecting their own and other people’s physical, social and cyber boundaries.

Parenting Workshop aim to support parents in supporting their children. It consists of  varying 4 to 8 week course, 2 hours per week,  in group settings where Parents can interact in discussions, share experiences and learn new skills. Topics covered:  Communicating with your Child, Discipline, Coping with Negative Behaviour, Encouraging your Child, Infant/Child Mental Health, Relationships, Parenting and Sex Education as well as Self Esteem and Self Care.

Time for You!  – These workshops focus on ways to stay mentally healthy and well, remain productive and enjoy life.  Everyday life can be challenging and stressful.  These workshops will elp you learn different ways of solving problems, communicating with others and provide tools to cope with stress.
